About the Wine
Lovers of native vines come forward. What Maison Anselmet offers here is a real gem. La Touche Rouge, in fact, is a young red wine that is ready to drink. A creation of the home winemaker who enjoyed assembling some of the most interesting red grape varieties in the region such as Petit Rouge, Cornalin, Mayolet and Fumin. All vines that love the cold climate of the Aosta Valley but which reach perfect ripeness thanks to the hot sun of the Alpine summers. We are between 700 and 900 meters above sea level and the large temperature variations between day and night favor the appearance of intense and elegant perfumes. Classic red vinification and aging in steel give life to a wine characterized by a beautiful intense ruby red color, with purple reflections. On the nose the aromas are those of undergrowth and jam, while in the mouth it is full, with notes of black cherry that lead to an intriguing closure with particular blood notes. A strongly territorial red that requires a typical pairing. Excellent, for example, with cheese polenta or with a classic tasty soup.
About the Winery
It takes a certain amount of heroism to decide to make wine in Valle d'Aosta. And of course also a pinch of madness. Qualities that are certainly not lacking in the Anselmet house, which have been dealing with this for very remote times. It seems, in fact, that the first traces of an Anselmet engaged in vineyards and barrels at the foot of Mont Blanc date back to 1585. Since then, from father to son, the Anselmet family have gradually consolidated their relationship with the mountains and, in 1978 , Renato Anselmet created the cellar that we all know and appreciate today. From its vineyards with excellent exposure and located between 600 and 900 meters above sea level, Anselmet collects high quality grapes. Traditional and native vines that are worked with passion and competence in the beautiful cellar of Villeneuve, in the province of Aosta, to then reach markets around the world. Collecting, ça va sans dire, the most prestigious prizes and awards.
